Compact Camera Reviews 2011

Point and Shoot Cameras

Picture this: A buzzing sound, a pleasant tinkle when you click and then a beautiful picture. Well, that was easy wasn’t it? Yup, you took a “great shot” and came out on top! Well, okay I’ll cut down to the chase if you still haven’t figured it out yet. Yup my dear friends, I am talking about digital cameras! Oftentimes, this type of cameras is called point and shoot cameras. With digital camera sales on the rise, there is going to be an expected evaluation. So, which camera is the best among the bunch? Let me help you out there with my own Compact Point and Shoot cameras review!

Well, first of all, there are the “big shots” and then there are the “underdogs” and lastly there are the “crowd favourites” when it comes to digital or point and shoot cameras. So we focus on these.

Panning the Point and Shoot Cameras

Panasonic Lumix Point and Shoot Cameras

My brother is a proud owner of a Panasonic Lumix, and believe me, he totally, madly, deeply loves it! He talks about the camera all the time! Okay, let’s not mind that, but the Lumix DMC-FX75 is a sure good pick because of its good image quality. It has a quick shutter and AF speed plus a wide-angle fast lens. The DMC-FX75 is Lumix’s most recent product, and it is priced at around $300. The only drawback with this camera is that in bright sunlight, its LCD can get quite tricky, and at ISO 400, you can hear a bit of noise. But on the whole, it is a good buy.

Canon PowerShot Point and Shoot Cameras

In a digital camera review, is it even plausible that might Canon brand be not in it? Of course, not! So, I have included the Canon PowerShot SD 700 IS. The SD 700 IS is considered as a new age camera. It sports a generous 6-megapixel lens, 4x Digital Zoom, 16:9-4x Optical Zoom, a 2.5 inch Active Matrix and TFT Color LCD-MPN:1130B001. It is a high-tech camera that is priced at approximately $500. Among all the cameras in this review, it seems to be the best pick.

Nikon CoolPix Point and Shoot Cameras

The Nikon CoolPix P4 is small and lightweight but packs a number of features that will surprise you. It has an optical anti-shake technology and a hefty 8.1 megapixel camera lens that allows you to take high-quality images. At around $400, this is already a great offer.

Olympus Point and Shoot Cameras

The Olympus 720 is what we call “the camera for all seasons and reasons”. Why? Because this camera can also be used underwater! Isn’t that amazing? This feature makes the camera perfect and ideal! Other notable features that this camera possesses include its shockproof, anti-shake and water-proof technology. For 2011, this is undoubtedly the best waterproof digital camera.

Other Point and Shoot Cameras

If I did not include these cameras in this digital camera review, I would end up being ridiculed socially. So here are others that made the list: the Fujifilm FinePix F30 with the highest ISO, the Sony CyberShot DSC-W100 and Casio Exilim EX-Z600, which both have 2.7 inch screens. Samsung cameras, along with Kodak and Pentax Optio made the list under the best waterproof digital cameras.

Well, we can go on and on with our list of gadgets in these categories. But this Compact Point and Shoot Digital Cameras Review is just meant to help you decide on what the best cameras are offered in the market. Of course, it will also give you an idea on what cameras you should buy.
